This morning, I ran 4.5 miles at 530am. It was a muggy 70 degrees at the start. As I ran around the lake, I thought of my father. Today is his death date. I spent time considering his gifts and his weaknesses. In the end, I jumped in Barton Springs and soaked for a minute. Since it is the 21st year after his death, I decided to baptize myself in BS water as a way to start over, and be a healthier 52 year old than he was at my age.

The run was slow - 9-930s - but I completed it. After the run and soak, I took Albert for a walk, Went to the Dr for a flu shot and a referral to a PT, and made an appointment at the PT for the 18th to have my sciatica worked on.

Then I met Gilbert at the coffee house Radio, and we chatted about my training. He is going to help me slowly get back to racing speed. I saw Leo Manzano there as well. Good sign?

Anyway, weekly mileage is now a whopping 8.5 miles. Goal - 20 or so.

I am going to the Tues. AM gazelles workout for circuits. Should be fun.
