quick update.
Wednesday 12/06 - 0 mi
I didn't run on Wed. - the 430am wake up was getting to me and I needed a break after humping a sheds worth of lumber into the backyard as well as doing the core workout on Tues with gazelles.
Thursday 12/07 - 2 mi
I ran about 2 miles on Thur. Was planning to do the Fartleks with the gazelles, but G cancelled workout due to snowy conditions. I was already down at the trail so decided to do the workout solo. I hadn't warmed up properly tho, and it was about 34 degrees out. My L calf started to cramp/strain after about 800 meters, so I stopped to stretch it, which cooled down the other muscles.
Anyway, I very very slowly jogged in the snow - which was awesome!- but was really concerned about a calf injury so didn't push at all. You can see from the graphs that I stopped a few times to stretch. My pace was between 9-10 min/miles. Gave up when I could feel the calf ready to pop.
Friday 12/08 - 5 mi
School was on late start so I decided to go for the fartlek workout again. I stretched and rolled calves and hammies at home, and dressed with tights and compression socks to stay warm (37 degrees at start). I did a 15min warmup with a stop at Aud shores to do the gazelles warm up exercises (high knees, karyokes etc) , and then carefully eased into the next gear. Did 10X1 with 1 min rest, then a cool down back to the truck. I was conscious of the calfs the whole time, but they cooperated. I am learning that I must really pay closer attention to details when prepping for any kind of workout. My muscles are just not there to support sustained punishment. Need to work on strength a lot. I was super pumped to have completed the workout however. You can see my cadence increase during each of the reps. My speed is poor (fastest was 7.05) but that is expected. I haven't done a workout in a while and those muscles are not developed.

Sat/Sun - I'd like to run 6 or 7 easy miles on Sat. and do yoga on Sun. That will give me around 20 for the week I think.
